Orsu Metals Corporation (“Orsu”, or the “Company”) (TSX: OSU, AIM: OSU), the London-based precious and base metals mining, production, exploration and development company, announces that on 6 January 2009 it received a notification by Charlemagne Capital (IOM) Limited, that on behalf of managed funds, it is interested in 77,045,437 or 16.86% of the Ordinary Shares of no par value of the Company. Previously Charlemagne Capital Limited was interested in 73,906,203 Ordinary Shares or 16.17% of the total number of shares in issue.

Talas copper-gold exploration update
Orsu is pleased to provide an update of on-going work at the Talas copper-gold exploration licence area, north west Kyrgyzstan. Geochemical and geophysical surveying has been completed at all four licences (Taldybulak, Barkol, Kentash and Korgontash) within the Talas licence area.

Update on Pending Litigation
Orsu announces that further to an update on 31 October 2008 relating to the previously announced class action claim, Orsu advises that the original claim has been effectively replaced by a new claim similar in nature, by a new plaintiff. This claim has today been served on the Company.

Joint Venture Agreement With Gold Fields
Orsu Metals Corporation (“Orsu”, or the “Company”) (TSX:OSU, AIM:OSU) is pleased to announce that it has successfully signed a joint venture agreement (the “agreement”) with Gold Fields Orogen Holdings BVI Limited (“Gold Fields”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Gold Fields Limited, for the further exploration and development of the Talas licence area, north west Kyrgyzstan.
